Passengers' horror as London to Stockholm jet makes emergency landing after bomb threat

By DANNY COLLINS
HORRIFIED passengers tweeted their shock after a plane from London to Stockholm was forced to make an emergency landing following a bomb scare.
The Scandinavian Airlines jet, carrying 72 passengers to Sweden from Heathrow, landed at Lendvetter Airport in Gothenburg.
Bomb squads raced to inspect the plane at around 9am this morning.
A Swedish police spokesman said: "The bomb threat was called in to air traffic controllers while the plane was in the air."
Saying that all passengers were to be questioned by police, he added: "They were on board when the threat came in and I'm sure there's reason to investigate if there are any connections."
Bomb and forensic experts are currently inspecting the aircraft but flights from the airport have resumed.

British professional racing driver Tom Onslow-Cole tweeted events from the tarmac on the west coast of Sweden.
He tweeted a selfie with the caption: “Took off for Stockholm, just landed in Gothenburg... this could get interesting. Anyone know what's happening?
“Plane came down quickly, parked straight up at the end of the runway. Crew and captain is on the bus with us #Iffy.”
And Swedish authorities did not try to hide the cause of the landing from open-mouthed travellers - with a food voucher handed out stating "Reason — BOMB".

When the drama unfolded, he continued: “Soooo, it was a bomb threat/scare.
"We are all safe and off the plane, big shout out to the pilot and crew for keeping their cool!”
Onslow-Cole, 28, a former British Touring Car driver, was on his way to a training event in the Swedish lakes.
He told The Sun: “We started to notice we were coming into land really steeply and earlier than we were supposed to.
“I assumed something was wrong and we were then told it was a security issue."

He added: "We were not told until we got off the plane and other passengers started to read about it online.
“I have rented a car to make the rest of the journey but others at the airport will have to wait there until 7pm.”
And Onslow-Cole joked: “We were given a food voucher with the word ‘bomb’ on it. I’m going to keep it as a memento.”
